A Love Letter to Heat-Loving Plants
Especially during propagation, when taking cuttings, or while seedlings are still small, cold temperatures from below can slow root development. The Romberg heating mat provides consistent, even bottom heat and creates a stable microclimate – exactly where young plants need it most: in the root zone.
Simply place the heating mat under your indoor propagator. At normal room temperature, it supports an even internal temperature of approx. 22 to 25 °C – ideal for heat-loving crops, germination, and rooting.
The heating mat is perfectly sized for propagators approx. 58 × 19 cm, double-insulated, and acid-resistant. Thanks to its water-repellent, durable surface, it is easy to clean after use and can be stored compactly. It is also suitable for use in terrariums.
Even More Precise Temperature Control
For especially accurate control, the heating mat can be combined with the Romberg “HortiSwitch” and “HortiSwitch 3.0” thermostats (accessories). Alternatively, heat output can also be regulated using a timer, depending on the setup.
How to Use the Heating Mat
- Place the heating mat flat under the indoor propagator or seed tray.
- Position the propagator in a bright location (e.g. a windowsill).
- Regularly monitor the temperature inside the propagator and adjust as needed using ventilation, covers, a timer, or a thermostat.
Please Note
Ambient room temperature influences the temperature inside the propagator. The heating mat is not designed to compensate for extreme temperature conditions (e.g. cold basements or outdoor use).
Safety Instructions
• Do not cut, fold, kink, or damage the heating mat.
• Do not use if the PVC casing, cable, or plug is damaged.
• Do not cover (e.g. with textiles) and do not use as a heating pad for people or animals.
• Splash-proof, but not suitable for underwater use (e.g. aquariums).
Tip
Heat alone is not enough: place your indoor propagator with the heating mat in a bright location or supplement with grow lighting if necessary – this helps promote compact, vigorous young plants.
