T5 Lightning - Fluorescent Tubes for Lighting Cuttings

T5 Lightning grow lamps are fluorescent tubes. They provide a suitable plant light especially for cuttings and young plants during indoor grow. In addition to cuttings lighting, fluorescent tubes have the advantage that they do not get hot and consume little power. In addition, the fluorescent tubes are relatively inexpensive to purchase and have a long service life. It is also possible to illuminate larger areas with them without any problems.

The disadvantage of fluorescent tubes is the fact that they have a rather low luminosity and a very low depth effect compared to other illuminants. Due to their length, they are also not suitable for smaller grow boxes.

Fluorescent tubes should definitely be operated with a reflector or in an amature to get the maximum luminosity out of them. Also, they should be hung very close above the plants (5-10cm) to compensate for the low depth effect. Since they do not get hot, this can be done without any problems.
