Air-Pot Superroot: Fresh air for the roots

The Air-Pot company is particularly popular with nurseries and garden centres. The Air-Pots („air-pot“) are suitable for growing young plants as well as for adult plants, can be used as often as desired and are very stable.

Principle and functioning
The wall of the round Air-Pots has a special dimple shape, which is open to the outside. This has several advantages. Firstly, this shape prevents the formation of ring roots, secondly, the roots that want to grow through the hole are naturally pruned by the air and light and die at the tip. This causes the roots to form new side shoots, and the root network thus becomes denser and finer at the same time. In this way, the plant can better absorb nutrients from the soil. The roots get permanent fresh oxygen in the Air-Pots and thus grow faster than in conventional pots. Excess water can easily run off through the holes, and the bottom consists of a grid that protrudes a small distance into the pot. This little trick prevents waterlogging, even when the trivet is full of water! Mould is also almost impossible due to the special design! The Air-Pots are manufactured in Great Britain and are made of recycled polyethylene. Caution: Air-Pots are not suitable for absolute beginners! Due to the special shape, the substrate dries out more quickly, and if the EC value is too high and there is too little drainage, salinisation can occur more quickly with Air-Pots due to the higher evaporation rate.

How to use

• The Air-Pots are shipped rolled out and can thus also be stored in a space-saving way
• To assemble: Insert the bottom of the lowest row, wrap the dimpled sheet around it and close it with the practical locking screw.
• Fill the medium relatively tightly. Particularly coarse soil should be packed in tightly so that all cavities are sealed and everything does not sink after the first watering.
• To repot: open the screw plug, unwind the dimpled sheet to the side and you're done.
• Caution: The grid at the bottom tends to get tangled with the lowest roots. Loosen carefully!

Tips: The Air-Pots have a „top“ and „bottom“, even if it doesn't look like it at first glance. On one side, the dimpled sheet in the first row has NO holes. This side goes to the top. This facilitates the watering process, as otherwise the water simply seeps out through the holes.

The dimpled sheet has no holes on one side.

Application: Air-Pots are suitable for all substrates (coco, soil, rockwool, mapito, flower clay...) and for every stage. Air-Pots are particularly suitable for SOG-Grows with ebb/flood systems or LST-Grows. Due to the many holes, you can perfectly stretch small wires and thus get the plant into any desired shape.
