Compo Fertilizer
COMPO fertilizers at Growmart cover several different plant types and applications, ranging from mineral fertilizer for the growth phase to organic liquid feeds for tomatoes, fruit, vegetables and citrus plants, as well as green plant fertilizer and GROW ORGANIC fertilizer sticks. The best choice therefore depends primarily on the plants you want to feed and the type of nutrient application that suits your setup.
Which COMPO fertilizer should you choose?
COMPO GROW growth fertilizer is designed for plants during the vegetative growth phase. This mineral liquid fertilizer supplies macro- and micronutrients and is specifically intended for phase 1 rather than as one universal fertilizer for every stage of plant development. If you need nutrients for other stages or growing systems, you can compare further options in Growmart's fertilizer range.
For edible crops, the COMPO range allows you to choose more specifically by plant type. COMPO BIO Tomato Fertilizer is formulated for tomato plants, while BIO Fruit & Vegetable Fertilizer covers a wider selection of fruit and vegetable crops. BIO Citrus Plant Fertilizer is intended specifically for citrus plants. These liquid fertilizers use natural, plant-based ingredients and are suitable when you want an organic fertilizer tailored to the relevant plant group.
For foliage plants, palms and ferns, COMPO Green Plant and Palm Fertilizer provides a different option. This mineral liquid fertilizer contains primary and trace nutrients as well as additional potassium and iron. According to COMPO, it can also be used for plants grown in plant granules.
Organic, organo-mineral or mineral fertilizer?
The COMPO products available from Growmart also differ in nutrient type. The BIO liquid fertilizers for tomatoes, fruit and vegetables, and citrus plants are organic fertilizers. COMPO GROW growth fertilizer and Green Plant and Palm Fertilizer are mineral liquid fertilizers. GROW ORGANIC fertilizer sticks, on the other hand, are classified as an organo-mineral NPK fertilizer.
This means the words “BIO”, “ORGANIC” or “GROW” alone should not determine your choice. Check which plants and growth stage the product is designed for and consider how much nutrition is already present in your growing medium. You can compare suitable growing media separately at Growmart.
COMPO liquid fertilizer or fertilizer sticks?
Liquid fertilizers are mixed with irrigation water, allowing the nutrient application to be adjusted according to the product instructions and the plants being grown. This makes them useful when you want regular control over feeding. COMPO GROW ORGANIC fertilizer sticks are placed directly into the soil and release nutrients over a longer period. COMPO describes the sticks as an additional nutrient supply alongside normal fertilization, so they should not simply be treated as a direct replacement for a freely dosed base fertilizer.
Whichever option you choose, always follow the application and dosage instructions for the individual product. This is particularly important when using pre-fertilized growing media, where adding more nutrients is not automatically beneficial.
