Even bottom heat for germination and rooting indoors
The Romberg Heating Mat XXL supports the propagation of heat-loving plants by delivering steady warmth from below. At normal room temperature, it typically creates an even temperature range of around 22–25 °C inside a mini greenhouse.
This improves conditions for seedlings, cuttings, and young plants when a windowsill or growing area is too cool.
Using it in a mini greenhouse
- Place the heating mat flat underneath the mini greenhouse.
- Position the greenhouse in the brightest spot possible (e.g., a windowsill).
- Check the internal temperature regularly and adjust if needed.
Depending on the mini greenhouse, temperature adjustment is done via vents/sliders in the cover or by briefly removing the lid. Alternatively, you can control the heat supply with a timer or a thermostat.
Temperature notes and control
The internal temperature in the greenhouse is always influenced by the ambient temperature. The heating mat is not designed to compensate for extreme temperature differences and is not intended for cold basements or outdoor greenhouses.
For more precise control, the heating mat can be combined with Romberg thermostats (e.g., HortiSwitch / HortiSwitch 3.0).
Safety and care
- Do not cut, fold, bend, or puncture the heating mat.
- Do not use if the PVC casing, cable, or plug is damaged.
- Do not use as a heating pad for people or animals.
- Do not cover with textiles or heat-sensitive materials.
- Splash-resistant, but not suitable for underwater use.
- Wipe-clean surface; store dry after use.
