The Grodan Delta growing block, 10 × 10 × 6.5 cm, ø 27 mm is a ready-to-use stone wool block for hydroponic cultivation. It provides the next stage after initial propagation, giving young plants additional substrate volume for continued root development. Stone wool for hydroponic cultivation

Stone wool combines good moisture retention with an open structure around the root zone. This allows water and nutrient delivery to be managed through a nutrient solution while maintaining suitable conditions for root development. Excess water should always be able to drain freely. 27 mm planting hole for young plants

The prepared opening has a diameter of approximately 27 mm and is designed to receive a compatible propagation plug containing an established young plant. Side wrapping for directed root growth

The growing block is wrapped around the sides. This limits roots emerging horizontally and encourages more of the root system to develop towards the bottom of the block. Once established, the block can be incorporated into suitable hydroponic setups or placed onto further stone wool growing media. Good drainage remains important to prevent excess water from accumulating around the roots.
