Since the pods of the Corno Di Toro Giallo chilli resemble the horns of a bull, this variety has been given a fitting and euphonious name in its Italian homeland. The large yellow fruits are not only pleasing to the eye but also have a very aromatic taste. You can grill them wonderfully, fry them or even fill them with cream cheese or pastes / pies. With its fleshy fruit walls, the Corno Di Toro Giallo is also very well suited for delicious salads.

Germination and growing

To get this variety to germinate, you should provide them with an environment with a temperature between 20 and 28 °C. A heated greenhouse is ideal for this. Whether you pre-germinate the seeds in two layers of kitchen roll or let them grow directly in soil is entirely up to you. When you place the seedlings in pots, you should use a well-fertilised and airy soil and make sure that the water does not accumulate. Chilli plants need a lot of sun for their development and certain minimum temperatures for the ripening of the fruits. Therefore, place them in a suitable spot where they get at least 6-8 hours of sun and plant them in pots rather than flower pots. This makes it easier to bring them indoors in early autumn on days with temperatures below 12 °C - so the fruits can still ripen despite the sometimes long ripening period.
