Automatic irrigation for nine plants with individually positioned 15-litre pots

The AutoPot 1Pot System 9 x 15L Pots is a modular, gravity-fed irrigation system designed for nine plants. Each 15-litre pot sits in its own tray and is supplied with water or nutrient solution through an AQUAvalve5. As the modules are separate, you can position each plant to suit the available growing space. The system is suitable for indoor grows, greenhouses and outdoor cultivation, while the irrigation itself operates without a pump or timer.

Gravity-fed irrigation with AQUAvalve5

The supplied 100-litre FlexiTank feeds the pipework using gravity. AutoPot specifies that the reservoir should be positioned at least 150 mm above the highest AQUAvalve5. Each of the nine valves manages the supply to its own tray and creates a wet-and-dry cycle between fills. This removes the need to hand-water individual pots or operate the system through a timed drip-irrigation schedule.

Individual 1Pot modules for flexible layouts

Because every plant grows in a separate 1Pot module, spacing can be adjusted to suit plant size and the available floor area. This is particularly useful for larger plants that need different amounts of room as they develop. Water is distributed through a 16 mm main line with 9 mm feeds running to the individual AQUAvalve5 units. Other configurations are available in the AutoPot 1Pot irrigation system range. For later expansion, an additional plant can be added with the 1Pot extension kit with 15-litre pot.

Using the right growing medium and nutrients

AutoPot recommends free-draining growing media or mixes such as soil with perlite, coco with perlite, or combinations containing clay pebbles. After potting up, the plants should initially be watered from above and allowed to establish for around 7–10 days before the system is switched on. Mineral and organic fertilisers can be supplied through the reservoir and pipework with AQUAvalve5 systems. When organic fertilisers are used, AutoPot specifies an additional water pump in the reservoir running for 15 minutes every two hours, together with regular cleaning of the reservoir, pump and filter and flushing of the pipework. Replacement tubing, filters, valve components and other parts are available among the AutoPot accessories.
