ThermoLux heat mat 45 × 65 cm, 40 W – bottom heat for plant propagation

The ThermoLux heat mat adds warmth around the roots of cuttings and young plants when your propagation area is too cool. Designed for use with indoor propagators, it lets you add heating from below to an existing setup. It suits both your first propagation space and an expansion of established growing equipment.

A 45 × 65 cm mat for your propagation setup

Lay the mat flat beneath an appropriately sized indoor propagator for cuttings and young plants. Its even heat distribution helps warm a root zone that would otherwise be too cool. Check the dimensions against your planned setup before use. Do not crease or fold the mat to make it fit a smaller space.

Washable surface with IP67 protection

Made in Germany, the mat has a washable plastic surface that makes cleaning between propagation cycles easier. Its material is resistant to water and rot, and the mat is rated IP67. A protective earth conductor extends across the full surface as part of its electrical construction. The included cable connects the mat to a 230 V mains supply.

Monitor temperatures and prevent heat build-up

With the mat uncovered at an ambient temperature of 20 °C, its surface reaches approximately 36–42 °C. This range is neither a controlled growing-medium temperature nor the maximum possible temperature. Heavy covering or placement within soil can cause temperatures to exceed 50 °C.

Before extended operation, test your setup to make sure sufficient heat can escape, and monitor the temperature around the roots. For temperature-controlled switching, you can add an external controller such as the Romberg Thermostat HortiSwitch. Do not use the mat as an electric blanket, and follow the operating instructions.
