Grodan Propagation Mat Box SBS 36/77 (18 pcs.)
This set gives plants a professional start in Grodan rockwool: the Grodan SBS Plugs (Single Block System) are square propagation cubes in trays, designed for uniform water and nutrient distribution and reliable germination and early plant development. Thanks to their consistent structure and firmness, the plugs are easy to handle both manually and (depending on the setup) mechanically.
Why tray + plug?
The plugs sit in a stable plastic propagation tray. The openings on the underside support controlled moisture management: moisture can be absorbed while excess water can drain away. At the same time, the tray helps protect delicate emerging roots from excessive light and direct air exposure.
Use (short)
- Fully moisten the plugs before sowing/propagating cuttings (ideally with a suitable nutrient solution). Important: During initial saturation, do not set the pH below 5.2.
- Insert the seed or cutting into the pre-formed hole.
- Keep evenly moist – avoid waterlogging (use drainage).
- Once the plug is fully rooted, transplant it into a suitable grow block (e.g. a Grodan Delta/grow block with a large planting hole) or into your desired substrate/system.
