Floragard Organic Soil Aromatic is a peat-free organic specialty soil specifically tailored to the needs of herbs and sensitive young plants. Thanks to the vegan starter fertilization, your plants are supplied evenly during the first weeks – perfect for repotting fresh herbs or continuing cultivation of seedlings after germination.
What is this organic soil suitable for?
The soil can be used both for repotting herbs and for propagation purposes: sowing seeds, pricking out seedlings, and even rooting cuttings works reliably with this mix. The 3-liter bag is especially practical if you only need small quantities on a windowsill, balcony, or in a greenhouse.
Typical herbs that thrive well in this soil include basil, thyme, mint, rosemary, oregano, chives, or parsley.
What’s inside – and why that’s beneficial
- Perlite loosens the substrate and improves drainage as well as oxygen supply to the roots.
- Coco coir, wood fibers & bark humus support a stable, airy structure and good water management.
- Green waste compost contributes to nutrient supply and activates the substrate.
- Lime helps keep the pH value within a suitable range.
Technical values (guidelines)
For those who want more detail: At the time of production, the organic soil has a pH value of approx. 6.3 and a salt content of around 1.2 g/l. Nutrient levels are given as guideline values of approx. 100 mg/l nitrogen (N), approx. 150 mg/l phosphorus (P2O5), and approx. 1000 mg/l potassium (K2O).
Application & watering tips (peat-free = different watering)
- Loosen the soil well before use.
- When repotting: briefly immerse the root ball of your herbs in water (approx. 30 seconds), then place the plant into fresh soil.
- Water more frequently in smaller amounts rather than rarely and heavily – peat-free soils retain water differently.
- Note: Excess water may contain natural humic substances and can slightly discolor light, mineral surfaces (harmless).

The organic soil is ECOCERT certified and produced in Germany. Thanks to its vegan formulation, it is also considered safe for people and animals – practical if children or pets are present in your household or garden.
