GrowMax Water Power Grow 500 – Reverse Osmosis System up to 500 L/day
With the GrowMax Water Power Grow 500 you can turn tap water into very soft, low-mineral water. This provides a clean starting point for nutrient solutions and allows more accurate EC and nutrient adjustment, which is especially important in hydroponic, coco and other controlled grow systems.
Why use reverse osmosis water?
Depending on your region, tap water can contain varying levels of hardness, salts, heavy metals and disinfectants such as chlorine or chloramines. Reverse osmosis significantly lowers the EC/TDS of the water, helping to prevent unwanted interactions with fertilizers and reducing the risk of nutrient lockout.
Filtration performance
- Reduction of dissolved salts & heavy metals: up to approx. 95% (depending on source water)
- Additional reduction/removal: chlorine/chloramines, nitrates, sediments (down to 5 µm) and many organic compounds
- pH note: Manufacturer specifications indicate a range around pH 6.0–6.5. In very low-EC water the measured pH may fluctuate; final pH adjustment is usually done after adding nutrients or supplements.
Output & efficiency
- Flow rate: up to approx. 20 L/h (maximum value)
- Waste-to-pure water ratio: typically around 2:1 (waste : purified water)
- Important: Cold inlet water or low pressure will significantly reduce daily output.
What’s included
- Main unit with pressure gauge, flow restrictor and automatic shut-off valve
- 5 µm sediment pre-filter
- Green carbon block (coconut-based activated carbon)
- High-flow RO membrane (150 GPD)
- Complete installation kit incl. tubing (inlet / purified / waste water), shut-off valve and indoor/outdoor connectors
- Filter wrench and multi-language user manual
Operating conditions (for best performance)
- Optimal water temperature: approx. 25 °C
- Optimal inlet pressure: approx. 3–5 kg/cm² (≈ 3–5 bar); minimum approx. 40 psi
- Maximum inlet pressure: approx. 80 psi (use a pressure reducer if necessary)
- Recommended source water quality: approx. ≤ 550 ppm; technically possible up to ~1000 ppm (may reduce membrane lifespan)
- Protect from frost; do not operate in freezing conditions
Maintenance & filter replacement
- Initial start-up: Flush the system for approx. 15 minutes on first use and after membrane replacement
- Stabilization: PPM/EC and pH values may need some runtime to stabilize after start-up or filter changes
- Pre-filters (sediment + carbon): depending on water quality and usage, typically every 4–6 months; manufacturer recommendation: replacement after approx. 4,000 L
- RO membrane: approx. 6 months to 2 years depending on water quality (replace earlier if PPM rises or output drops noticeably)
Optional accessories
- Booster pump kit: recommended for low inlet pressure (below ~40 psi) to increase output
- Float valve kit: automatic shut-off when tanks or reservoirs are full
- UV kit: for additional microbial reduction
- De-ionization kit: polishing stage for ultra-pure water (near-zero PPM)
Warranty note: Standard 1-year warranty; according to the manufacturer, a 2-year warranty is available after online product registration.
