Canna pH Down Citric Acid for controlled pH adjustment
Canna pH Down Citric Acid, also known as CANNA Organic Acid, is a liquid pH reducer based on citric acid. It allows you to lower an excessively high pH in water or nutrient solution in controlled steps. Maintaining a suitable pH helps plants access the nutrients available to them, making regular pH management an important part of a controlled feeding routine.
Adjust the pH gradually
CANNA recommends starting with 2 ml of concentrate per 10 litres of water. Mix the solution thoroughly and then measure the pH. If the required level has not yet been reached, the process can be repeated. CANNA specifies a recommended pH range of 5.2–6.4. Suitable equipment for checking your solution is available in the range of pH and EC meters and regulators.
Citric acid as an organic alternative
According to the current German manufacturer information, the Organic Acid formulation contains 41% citric acid and provides an organic alternative to pH reducers based on nitric or phosphoric acid. Other products for raising or lowering pH can be found in the pH correction range.
Using it in nutrient tanks
Citric acid can also provide favourable conditions for bacteria and mould in nutrient tanks. CANNA therefore recommends refreshing prepared solutions regularly. The concentrate should not be mixed directly with undiluted fertilisers and should be stored in a dark place at a minimum temperature of 5 °C.
