Bluelab Multimedia pH Meter – check pH directly in the root zone

The Bluelab Multimedia pH Meter lets you check pH in soil, coco coir, rockwool and nutrient solutions. This portable pH meter suits both new and experienced indoor and outdoor growers who need to check their nutrient solution and root zone. It helps you spot changes in a growing condition that affects nutrient availability.

Replaceable Leap probe for growing media and solutions

The included Bluelab Leap pH Probe has a reinforced spear tip for taking measurements directly in growing media. The same probe also works in nutrient solutions. Its 2 m cable gives you room to position the handheld meter away from the sampling point. A BNC connection allows you to replace the probe when needed without replacing the whole meter.

Backlit display and automatic switch-off

The backlit LCD makes readings easier to see in low light, while a low-battery indicator alerts you when the batteries need replacing. The meter switches off automatically after approximately four minutes without a button press. It runs on two AAA alkaline batteries.

Two-point calibration with a 30-day indicator

Calibrate before first use and at least monthly thereafter. Start with Bluelab pH 7.0 calibration solution, followed by Bluelab pH 4.0 calibration solution. For readings above pH 7.0, you can use pH 10.0 as the second calibration point instead. The successful calibration indicator remains visible for 30 days before disappearing. Keep the calibration solutions and the medium being measured at similar temperatures.

Good probe contact and correct storage

The probe tip needs direct contact with moist growing media. Use the supplied dibber in coarse soil and allow the reading to stabilise before recording it. Although reinforced, the glass tip still needs protection from knocks and sideways pressure.

Rinse the tip with fresh tap water after each use. Then replace the storage cap, ensuring the tip is fully covered with Bluelab KCl storage solution. Never allow the tip to dry out. Distilled, deionised and reverse osmosis water are unsuitable for storage.
