Terra Aquatica pH-Down is used to reduce the pH value of "hard" water, because most crops require an optimal pH value for nutrient uptake. However, tap water in many countries is often inconsistent in this respect. In most cases, the water is too "hard" (high pH value, a lot of limescale is formed), which requires manual reduction of the pH value (the water is "acidified").
In addition to simple acids, this pH Down also contains a mixture of organic buffer substances, which means that the pH value is kept consistent in the long term, and the calcium content is reduced.
