The TROPICA Colorful Bee Meadow wildflower mix is a diverse nectar plant seed mix for creating a colorful, natural flowering area. The pack contains 200 seeds and is suitable for gardens, pots, containers and balcony boxes.

With around 20 to 40 different wildflower species, this bee meadow provides a valuable food source for bees, bumblebees, butterflies and other pollinators. At the same time, it adds natural color and biodiversity to your outdoor space.

Wildflower Mix for Bees, Bumblebees and Butterflies

The TROPICA Bee Meadow seed mix is designed for hardy and low-maintenance wildflowers. Wildflowers grow best in relatively nutrient-poor locations. Regular or heavy fertilization can have the opposite effect, so fertilizer should only be used sparingly.

With proper care, the mix can produce early and abundant blooms throughout the growing season. Faded flowers should be removed in good time so that later-blooming plants can develop strongly.

Sowing in the Garden, Pot, Container or Balcony Box

The TROPICA Bee Meadow seeds can be sown directly in the garden or in pots, containers and balcony boxes. The best sowing period is from mid-March to late June. In years with a mild and pleasant autumn, sowing is also possible from August to mid-September.

Scatter the seed mix onto the soil and press it down lightly, ideally with a small board. The seeds should not be buried deeply. For garden sowing, use about 1.5 g of seed per square meter, which is approximately 1 teaspoon.

Germination, Cutting and Care

After sowing, keep the soil evenly moist but not wet. The first seedlings usually appear after 3 to 12 weeks, depending on sowing time and conditions. Wildflower development generally continues throughout the entire growing season.

The more often wildflowers are cut, the better they can develop. At least two cuts per year, in spring and autumn, are recommended. From the second year onward, the first cut in garden sowings should be made in July or early August, after the main flowering period. If growth is strong, a second cut shortly before frost is recommended.

Allow the first cut material to dry for about one week so the seeds can fall out. Then carefully remove the plant material. Self-collected seeds can be stored dry and dark over winter and sown again the following year.
