GrowMax Eco Grow 240 Water Filter – Reduce Chlorine in Your Irrigation Water
The GrowMax Eco Grow 240 water filter helps improve tap water quality before it reaches your plants. Its two-stage filtration system reduces chlorine, sediment and various organic contaminants, providing cleaner water for regular irrigation. With a flow rate of up to 240 litres per hour, it is particularly suitable for houseplants, smaller indoor growing setups, and container plants on balconies or patios.
Two Filtration Stages for Cleaner Water
The Eco Grow 240 uses a 5-micron sediment filter followed by a coconut-based activated carbon block. The first stage traps suspended particles, including sand, dirt and rust deposits. The carbon filter then reduces chlorine and certain organic contaminants, including residues from pesticides, herbicides and volatile organic compounds.
The system can remove up to 99% of chlorine and up to 90% of sediment particles larger than 5 µm. Reducing these unwanted substances can help protect the beneficial microorganisms living around plant roots. This makes the filter particularly useful for organic growing methods and biologically active growing media, where maintaining a healthy microbial environment is important.
Easy Installation Without Electricity
The Eco Grow 240 operates using existing mains water pressure, so there is no need for an electrical connection. Unlike reverse osmosis systems, it produces no wastewater during normal filtration.
Installation is straightforward using the supplied tubing and tap connector with a 3/4-inch female thread. A built-in flow restrictor maintains the necessary contact time between the water and the filtration media. The included shut-off valve allows you to stop the water flow when required. Before first use, the system should be flushed for approximately five minutes.
Filter Maintenance and Operating Limits
The system has an approximate filtration capacity of 11,000 litres. Actual filter life depends on the quality and contamination levels of your incoming water. Visible dirt accumulation in the sediment cartridge or a noticeable reduction in water flow may indicate that replacement is needed sooner.
For routine maintenance, the compatible GrowMax replacement filter pack with sediment and carbon cartridges provides the necessary replacement elements.
It is important to distinguish this filter from a reverse osmosis system. The Eco Grow 240 does not significantly remove dissolved mineral salts or lower electrical conductivity (EC). If you need to reduce the mineral content of your water, explore the available reverse osmosis systems and water filters. For applications requiring a higher filtration flow rate, the GrowMax Garden Grow 480 is an alternative worth considering.
