True Myrtle - Evergreen And Fragrant
The true myrtle is a densely growing evergreen shrub that originates from the Mediterranean region. Its small dark green and pointed leaves give off an intense fragrance when crushed. When grown into bonsai, myrtle is considered unproblematic and undemanding.
Dwarf Pomegranate
When growing freely, this pomegranate variety only grows to about one meter high and is ideal as a bonsai. In summer it bears weeks of orange-red flowers between its small light green leaves and is happy in a sunny spot. Dwarf pomegranate bonsais need a winter break at 2 - 8°.
Ancient Cultivated Plant - The Oive Tree
The olive tree has been cultivated in the Himalayas, Africa, Arabia and the Mediterranean for several thousand years. It grows very slowly, is relatively undemanding and is often used for bonsai cultivation. Olive trees, however, need plenty of light and sun; with the right care, they also produce olives as bonsai.
