Harvesting Your own Peanuts
The peanut originated in South America and began its triumphal march around the world as early as the Middle Ages. Today it is grown all over the world, with China being the main producer by far. Botanically speaking, the peanut is not a nut, but belongs to the legume family, like peas, for example. Even though this plant only grows to a height of about 50 cm, it needs plenty of sun and warmth if you want to harvest peanuts. After pollination, the flower stalks sink to the ground, where the peanuts then grow.

Because the pink banana is a somewhat smaller species of banana and only grows about 1.5 metres tall in a pot or tub, it is perfect for indoor cultivation. It develops impressive leaves with a length of up to 1 metre and, with the right care, will even give you bananas after 2-3 years.

The dwarf coffee plant is an evergreen plant and can reach a height of around 1.5 metres in pots. Its flowers are bright white and it produces red fruits that usually grow into two beans. The dwarf coffee plant originates from Brazil and was first discovered there at the beginning of the twentieth century.
