The Truncheon EC rod is a conductivity meter without any calibration or buttons, which makes using this device incredibly easy. The blue LED display clearly shows the measured values, which can be easily read even in daylight. The rod is also good for stirring the sample fluid before testing. The stable, watertight casing guarantees a long lifetime, which the manufacturer backs up with a 5-year product warranty.
You measure the conductivity by holding the Truncheon in the nutrient solution for around 1-2 minutes. This adjusts the temperature and allows the values to be measured accurately Rinse the Truncheon with cold water after each use, and clean it every few weeks with the EC cleaning solution, also sold here, which is included in the EC cleaning and calibration set.
Electronic conductivity is a crucial parameter in plant cultivation. It allows conclusions to be drawn about the minerals dissolved in the nutrient solution, and in our case allows for precise measurement of fertiliser content.
In short, this waterproof device offers relatively accurate measurement (+/- 4% of the measurement range) in a measurement range of 0.2 to 3.6 EC without calibrating first, an automatic timer function, no buttons or switches, and a battery life of at least a year - all this in a compact construction and weighing only 200 g.
