The ThermoLux heat mat 17 × 17 cm, 6 W provides electric bottom heat for plant propagation. Designed for compact setups with cuttings and young plants, it distributes warmth evenly beneath the growing area. A compact format for your propagator

Position the mat flat beneath a suitable indoor plant propagator. Check that its heating area suits the footprint of your propagation container. For a larger setup, explore plant heat mats in other sizes. Choose dimensions that fit the space rather than folding an oversized mat.

Washable surface with IP67 protection

Manufactured in Germany, the mat uses waterproof, rot-resistant material with a washable plastic surface that makes cleaning after propagation straightforward. Its construction includes IP67 protection and a protective earth conductor extending across the entire surface. The supplied connection cable connects the mat to a 230 V mains supply.

Check root-zone temperatures and prevent heat build-up

With a room temperature of 20 °C and no covering, the mat reaches a surface temperature of approximately 36–42 °C. This does not indicate the temperature in the growing medium or an adjustable temperature setting. Monitor the root zone itself. A suitable external temperature controller can be used for temperature-dependent operation.

Heavy covering or embedding the mat in soil can cause temperatures to exceed 50 °C. Test your setup before extended operation to check that enough heat can escape. Avoid heat build-up and follow the operating instructions. Do not crease or fold the mat, or use it as an electric blanket.
