Organic or mineral-based?
What is the difference?
Organic and mineral-based fertilisers primarily have
the same goal: providing the plant with nutrients.
While these nutrients are present in mineral-based fertilisers
in a dissolved form, organic fertilisers consist of mostly natural substances. These are broken down by soil bacteria into components that can be used by the plant and can be taken up by the plant gradually.
So, where mineral-based fertilisers make the nutrients available immediately, and can therefore be applied in precise dosages, fans of organic praise their prolonged effect and swear by the positive effects that the can have on the flavour of the fruit.
