Plants need a balanced mineral supply to grow strong and healthy. When using soft, demineralized, reverse-osmosis or distilled water, key minerals like calcium and magnesium are often missing. Hesi CalMag replenishes these nutrients to help maintain the right mineral balance - a solid foundation for consistent growth.

Calcium strengthens plant cell walls and supports structure, while magnesium is essential for chlorophyll and photosynthesis. Together, they support efficient nutrient uptake and deep green foliage.

Technical Details

• Suitable for: soil, hydroponics, coco (e.g., buffering coco substrates)
• Nutrient data: NPK 5-0-0
  • 7.5% MgO, 5.0% CaO
  • plus iron chelate and molybdenum
• Use: soft water, RO/distilled water; manual & automated watering systems

Application & Dosage

Soft water preparation

• Add CalMag until an EC of 0.4–0.5 mS/cm is reached.
• Guideline:
  • Distilled or RO water: 3–4 ml per 5 L
  • Soft tap water: less depending on the starting EC

Targeting calcium and magnesium levels

• 10 ml per 50 L increases:
  • MgO by +15 mg/L (equals +9 mg/L Mg)
  • CaO by +10 mg/L (equals +7 mg/L Ca)
• 50 ml per 100 L increases:
  • MgO by +38 mg/L (equals +23 mg/L Mg)
  • CaO by +25 mg/L (equals +18 mg/L Ca)
